The New Zealand Institute of Building Inspectors was established in 2008 to provide a representative professional body of building inspectors across the country that are dedicated to lift the overall standard of pre-purchase building inspections and reporting processes to a recognised acceptable professional level.

The New Zealand Institute of Building Inspectors accepts qualified members and controls the membership through the enforcement of its Rules and Regulations which contain the expected ethical, inspection and reporting standards.
The Institute achieves this by…
- creating an organisation of like minded qualified inspectors
- provide peace of mind to the general public that their property has been inspected by a suitably qualified and trained building inspector, and
- provide professional organisations involved in the sale and purchase of properties with standardised inspection and reporting processes across the country.
